First and Foremost Bred For Good Temperaments

My very first acquaintance with border collies was back in 1991 when I went to the Suffolk agricultural show with a good friend, She was showing her collies and handed Mygem and told me to enjoy myself. I won the class so came home with my first red rosette. That was it!! I was hooked!! I then desperately wanted my own Border Collie to show. She told me that she had the perfect mating coming for me, which was Detania Precious to Clan-Abby Blue Aberdoone. The day came on the 4th March 1992. While Precious was whelping, I sat by her cage all day and picked my puppy when it was 2 hours old. We called him Detania Singing The Blues. This was one of the happiest days of my life. I then went on the show Blue who gave me a lot of fun because he was always in the cards and qualified for Crufts every year of his life. He gained his CC at Scottish Kennel on 21st May 1994. He was very much a character and a very lovable dog. He was the start of my Kennels, hence the Kennel prefix, Bluesplace.

Blue had great fun learning to work sheep with a friend Julia Grant. He showed great potential. She also tried training me, but this turned out to be impossible.

Blue sired many wonderful puppies the most memorable being Italian Champion Detania Hey Jude at Zeabo. He sired a litter to Jenny Wysocki's bitch Tamarsh Blue Bracken at Kamarda. I then kept a bitch Kamarda Field of Dreams at Bluesplace and Angela had Kamarda Silver Shadow at Detania. Both qualified for Crufts as puppies. Shadow won reserve Best Puppy in Show at Colchester Open Show in 1999. Shadows most memorable offspring CH. PL RUS. LT. LT CLUB W05 Kamarda Schumacher out in Poland. Dreamer then had a litter with Pauline Buxton's Magreena Largeto, the most famous offspring was Bluesplace Sapphire among Detania, who went on to gain her junior warrant at the age of 13 months. She has now been returned to me to have her last litter.

The Bluesplace household now includes Kamarda Silver Shadow, Detania Tam O'Shanter at Bluesplace, Detania Merrydown at Bluesplace, Bordertime chasing Blue at Bluesplace, Sheltysham Shady Stream At Bluesplace, and Bluesplace Jody.

All my stock are all tested for CEA/CL/TNS, are hearing tested, hip scored and current eye certificates.
